Bowey Homes
A different take on a house-builders ad image. An award winner!

+
Spire Bridge
As I watched this bridge being built, I wondered what would be the popular view point. As usual I went for something totally different. Map reading and a bit of river tidal tables were studied. This is the result.

Times Central
Commissioned by Lister Architects in Stockton. This was a really tricky one. Multiple images were shot to create this – it was a battle of wills between myself, taxis, buses, people, the sky and Sainsbury’s closing!

+
Ashington Library
Furniture detail from Ashington Library, commissioned by interior designer Karen Walker. Sometimes interior photography is 10 percent photography and 90 percent moving furniture!

+
EEF Meeting Room
Interiors for EEF’s new office in Team Valley Trading Estate. I included the glass partitions to make the meeting room interior a bit more than just a room with table and chairs.

EGGER Decor Marlin Hotels
London architectural interiors for EGGER featured in FX Magazine. For the eagle-eyed, how on earth did I get those London tourism icons through the window! Photoshop? Of course not – good old fashioned lighting and camera craft!

+
Opera, Reims
Captured just after a heavy rain storm. With a sky and location like this, it would be rude not to take a shot!
+
Urban Sciences
Commissioned for Newcastle University Urban Sciences website, showing stair lighting feature and different floor level design.

+
Urban Sciences
Commissioned for Newcastle University Urban Sciences website, exterior created from three separate files to include paved/seating area.

+
Boho One, Middlesbrough
Commisioned by Middlesbrough Council.

+
Operating Theatre
Multi-lighting set-up which worked sympathetically with the existing theatre lighting for a new operating theatre at the RVI, Newcastle.

+
Manors Car Park, Newcastle
This was originally taken as a series of images for Nikon UK. The project eventually fell through, but I continued to see it out. Pleased I did!
+
Spire Bridge
This is an alternative image in my quest to photograph the new Spire Bridge in Sunderland. See my journal post to find out more about my missing hat!

+
Tees Transporter Bridge
Commisioned by Middlesbrough Council. Here’s the link to view a short film of the making of this image.

+
Durham Cathedral
Commissioned by PS Lifestyle Magazine.

+
Forth Bridge
Another image from a short stop off between jobs!

+
Garage, Reims
Captured around the corner from Notre-Dame Cathedral.

+
Mowlem Kitchens
I’ve created a lot of kitchen interiors over the years, for a wide range of clients.
+
Axiom Kitchen
A location shoot in York.

Axiom Kitchen
A location shoot in Gosforth, Newcastle.

Camden High Street
I find old ads that are painted on gable ends fascinating. Recording these makes me feel as though I’m stopping these from fading away.

+
Sunderland Civic Centre
These are more about image and atmosphere than the traditional way of recording architecture. Also I seem to remember that Sunderland Civic Centre won an architecture award in the not-too-distant past. The architect was Sir Basil Spence, who designed, amongst other buildings of note, Coventry Cathedral.

Sunderland Civic Centre
Here’s an “architectural” post of Sunderland Civic Centre. When I say architecture in speech marks, I mean images that are architectural in nature! These images of Sunderland Civic Centre were caputured on a Fuji X20 – not the ideal camera for low light and architecture – but remember it’s all about the image.

Sunderland Civic Centre
The civic centre is often, now a days, put in the same class as brutalist architecture, just like another favourite of mine, Manors Car Park in Newcastle.

Dean Street
Another “it’s more about the feel of the image” than architectural!
